Mage Lab Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Thank you for using Mage Lab (“Mage Lab,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). Mage Lab is designed to bring your preferred AI models and tools into one place, so you can chat, create, or speak with them in a way that feels natural and efficient. Our aim is to make these interactions simple and secure, with a workspace that prioritizes ease of use and respect for your privacy.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and share information that relates to you or could be used to identify you (“Personal Information”) when you visit our website https://magelab.ai or use any of our services (together, the “Services”). The Policy covers the information you choose to provide directly, the information we collect automatically as you use the Services, and information we may obtain from third parties when you connect Mage Lab to external platforms or services that share data with us. Some of this information is “Usage Data,” which we collect automatically as you interact with the Services. This may include the features you use, how long you spend on certain pages, device and app activity, diagnostics, and performance data.

This Policy does not apply to Personal Information about Mage Lab employees or certain contractors and agents acting in similar roles.

Also, this Policy does not apply to information that is no longer considered Personal Information under the law, such as data that has been fully anonymized or aggregated so it cannot be linked back to you. We may also de-identify certain information, and when that happens, and where the law permits, it is no longer covered by this Policy.

By using Mage Lab’s Services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy, meaning you’re giving us permission to collect, use, and share your information as explained in this Policy.

We wrote this with clarity in mind, and if something does not make sense, we are always ready to answer your questions.

2. How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the Personal Information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the Services. To create an account, you’ll need a valid Gmail address. We use this email address to set up, verify, and manage your account, as well as communicate with you about your account and the Services. Your Gmail email address is used solely for these purposes. We do not scan or read the contents of your personal Gmail messages, and we do not sell your Personal Information.

Along with the information you provide directly, we automatically collect certain Usage Data as you interact with the platform, such as the pages you visit, features you use, time spent within the Services, device type, operating system, IP address and other general details about your device and browser. This helps us understand how the Services are used, personalize features, and keep your experience stable and reliable.

To protect your account and the integrity of the platform, we may verify your identity or work with trusted third-party partners who assist us in detecting unusual activity, enhancing performance, and safeguarding the Services from abuse.

We also use cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels and server logs, to support essential site functions, personalize your experience, measure engagement, and analyze how the Services are performing.

In addition to these core functions, we may use your Personal Information to:

  • Provide support and respond to inquiries you send us.
  • Communicate important updates about the Services, including security notices or policy changes.
  • Send optional updates, such as news, offers, or information about related features or events, unless you choose to opt out.
  • Evaluate or complete business transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, or asset sales, where user information may be part of the assets transferred.
  • Comply with legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, or protect the safety and security of the Services.

We will never use your Personal Information to train Mage Lab’s models unless you explicitly opt in. You may withdraw your consent at any time and request deletion of your information by contacting us.

When possible, we may de-identify or aggregate information so it can no longer be linked back to you. Once information has been de-identified, it is no longer treated as Personal Information under this Policy, and we will not attempt to re-identify it unless required by law.

Our goal is to use your information thoughtfully and responsibly so we can offer a secure, high-quality, and privacy-respecting experience across the Services.

3. Data Sharing and Disclosure

At Mage Lab, your Personal Information is never for sale. When we share information, we do so only for limited purposes, such as working with service providers who process data on our behalf, meeting legal obligations, or with your permission, and always with appropriate protections in place.

We work with carefully vetted partners and service providers who help keep the platform running smoothly, strengthen security, prevent fraud, improve your experience, and give us insights into how the Services are used. These third parties are bound by strict confidentiality obligations and must safeguard your information.

There may be times when we are required to share Personal Information to comply with the law, such as responding to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful government request. We may also disclose information when necessary to detect, prevent, or address fraud, misuse, or other harmful activity.

If Mage Lab is involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your Personal Information may be transferred as part of that process, but only under strict confidentiality safeguards.

If we ever plan to use your Personal Information in a way that isn’t described in this Policy, we’ll ask for your permission before moving forward.

4. Measures We Take to Protect Personal Information

We believe that safeguarding your Personal Information is fundamental to our goal of respecting your privacy. To support this commitment, we use a combination of administrative policies, technical safeguards, and physical protections to help prevent unauthorized access, misuse, loss, or alteration of your data. Our security measures follow industry standards, and we review and update them routinely to stay ahead of emerging risks and evolving best practices. When we partner with trusted third-party providers, we require them to uphold strong data protection standards and handle your information responsibly. While no system can be entirely immune to every potential threat, we remain committed to maintaining a high level of security and continually improving our practices.

5. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not designed for individuals under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from anyone in this age group. If we learn that we have unintentionally gathered Personal Information from someone under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly. If you believe that a child under 13 may have shared Personal Information with us, please contact us at support@sapientartifice.com, and we’ll address the situation as quickly as possible.

6. Our Approach to Retention of Personal Information

We retain your Personal Information only for the time needed to carry out the purposes described in this Policy. In some instances, we may be required to keep it longer, such as to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. When the information is no longer needed, we delete it or take steps to de-identify it so it can no longer be linked back to you. De-identified information may continue to be used to help maintain or improve the Services.

We also retain Usage Data for internal analysis. This information is typically stored for shorter periods, unless it is needed to support security efforts, enhance the functionality of the Services, or satisfy legal obligations.

7. Supplemental Terms and Conditions for Certain Regions

Europe

If you are located in the European Economic Area (the “EEA”), Switzerland, or the United Kingdom (the “UK”) our legal basis for collecting and using the Personal Information described in this Policy will depend on the Personal Information concerned and the specific context in which we collect it. However, we will normally collect Personal Information from you only where we have your consent to do so, where we need the Personal Information to perform a contract with you, or where the processing is in our legitimate interests and not overridden by your data protection interests or fundamental rights and freedoms. In some cases, we may also have a legal obligation to collect Personal Information from you.

We may share information internally or with third parties, as further described in this Policy. When we share Personal Information of individuals in the EEA, Switzerland or UK with third parties, we make use of a variety of legal mechanisms to safeguard the transfer including the European Commission-approved standard contractual clauses, as well as additional safeguards where appropriate.

California Consumer Privacy Act Notice

If your Mage Lab account is associated with a California mailing address, please note that we do not share the Personal Information we collect about you except as allowed under California law. In accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), we are required to inform you about how we use each category of Personal Information we collect, including sensitive Personal Information. We must also disclose which categories of third parties may receive this information for business purposes, whether we share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or whether we sell it in exchange for monetary compensation or other valuable consideration.

This notice is intended to supplement Mage Lab’s full Privacy Policy and applies specifically to California residents who use our Services or visit our website. It outlines how we handle Personal Information in accordance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and ensures you understand your rights and our responsibilities under California law.

Under California law, "sharing" refers to the use of your Personal Information to display targeted advertising based on your behavior across different websites or services. "Selling" involves providing your Personal Information to third parties in exchange for financial or other valuable benefits. We do not sell or share your Personal Information for either of these purposes, including any sensitive personal data or any Personal Information associated with individuals under the age of 18.

As a California resident, you have specific rights under the CCPA. These include the right to request access to the Personal Information we’ve collected about you over the past 12 months, the right to request corrections to any inaccurate personal data, and the right to request deletion of your Personal Information, subject to certain legal exceptions. You may also opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal data and request that we limit how your sensitive Personal Information is used or disclosed.

We will not deny you access to our Services or treat you unfairly if you choose to exercise your rights under the CCPA.

If you, or someone authorized to act on your behalf, submits a request, we’ll need to verify your identity before we can proceed. If we are unable to verify your identity, we may not be able to fulfill your request. If your request is denied in part or in full, we will inform you of your right to appeal and provide guidance on how to submit that appeal.

The Global Privacy Control (GPC) is a browser setting that communicates your preferences about whether your Personal Information should be sold or shared. Because we do not sell or share your Personal Information, Mage Lab does not respond to this setting.
